My 2018 TD6 is 800 miles out from needing service. This is the first oil change that I am doing myself at 28,000 miles, I wanted to switch to Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 and ordered my oil and fuel filter from RockAuto, which will be here by the weekend. Finding the T6 has been a slight challenge and when you do the price is super crazy expensive! Luckily I found out that my local Menards had 3 one gallon jugs and a hand full of quarts on their shelfs. Needless to say I purchased all 3 Gallons and a couple of the Quarts to have on hand. These shortages are getting out of hand!

 

Does that oil meet the specs now?

Interested to see how the Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 does long term.

I'm thinking of going with this kit next time, after I use what oil I have left.

When I go to the online Shell oil selector tool there is not a recommendation for the diesel Disco. The only.oil MFG I can find with a recommendation is Valvoline with their European spec synthetic. This is available on Amazon, but pickings are slim.

 

I reccomend going with the mobil 1 oil because that's the one I used for my first time changing the oil Thanks to @gmfain for the suggestion
