Default Questions on used 2017 Discovery options

Hi All,

I am just about to take ownership of a 2017 TD4 HSE Discovery 5. On initial enquiring with dealership they had it listed as 2018 sd4 and I queried this based on the VIN checks and ended up negotiating down quite a bit as it had some of the additions we wanted in a fairly restricted market so I was ok to go down a year. As thorough as I was on some areas, I completely overlooked the sd4 to td4 description changed after they listed the error of 2018 to 2017 (seems to be a common dealer tactic). ***After further investigation today, it seems like they have again not classified correctly and it is indeed a SD4, so I am happy about that, updating sales paperwork

Now a couple of issues/questions I've just realised:

- TD4 in this model is not offered with low range. We don't do much 4wd and would likely only to be minor/beach work at most, have I made a big mistake with the TD4 vs SD4 ? other than a little less kW, is there anything I can do here ? it says it has 2 spd trans case with ctl trac
- from the Topix download it states it has lane departure but doesn't have blind spot monitoring, does anyone know if this just means monitoring vs the system that actively takes over ? would blind spot warning still be on the mirrors ?
- It has the intouch pro system as its HSE but also says analogue audio broadcast Australia, would this mean it doesn't have DAB ?
- the forward facing camera I assume is for the adaptive cruise control, would this camera also be switchable in the 'camera's' app. I was hoping to get 360 but could not find the one with all the options I wanted, would a dealer retro fit this ? assuming you can view through the forward camera and its not just for emergency breaking etc.

Thanks kindly in advance for any help.

Thanks, I’ll have a look at that. In Australia, wouldn’t that be considered major failure and still sit within consumer law for replacement or repair even outside warranty ?

im happy to have the low range option on the sd4 along with the extra power but also good to know about potential defects
