I've seen several videos on how to reset the service reminder without a scanner tool and they have all been slightly different.

Here's what worked on my 2020 Discovery Landmark:

1. Open the hood
2. Close all doors
3. Turn on ignition without starting the engine - i.e. with foot off brake pedal
4. Open the driver's door
5. Simultaneously press down and hold brake and accelerator pedals
6. After about 30 seconds, a message in the instrument panel says reminder is resetting
7. Once it says reset is complete, release brake and accelerator pedals.
8. Close the door, start engine. Message should be gone.
Done.

 

To bad it doesn't work on the diesels.

Sorry, that was Nov, 2, 2018..

After a certain software update from JLR. it doesn't work on the diesels any more.

Trust me, after countless calls and fights with JLR CS. They told me they were not going to fix the issue. I even called England JLR CS.


I'm glad it works on the gas versions though.

 

I guess they are trying to force people to the dealership - possibly to get their reliability ratings up.
