Personally avoid the cheap chains as I've had overtightened lug nuts and some scuffing of the alloy wheel.
Yea that is the problem, don't have a shop I trust. Haven't hard a car in for service outside of a cheap chain in over 10 years.

hi all, I too am in NJ and would like to even go smaller on my wheels. Currently have the 20 inch on my D5, but would like to go down to a 19 or 18 inch and add some nice sidewall for our lovely NJ pot hole filled roads. Thinking of the toyo open country which I have on my L322 and love.

I took my brand new Rover to Discount Tires to swap the OEM’S. They were familiar with the process of raising the air suspension, which certainly engendered my trust.

Default DISCO 5 Wheel Change with 2021 Defender 20 inch wheels

Het guys,

I just joined the LAND ROVER Forum. I could use some advice. I own a 2017 DISCO 5 HSE with the Stock 21 inch wheel set up with 275/45/21 wheels are 9.5jx21 ET49. I found a good deal on a set of 5 OEM 20 inch wheels from a 2021 LAND ROVER DEFENDER. From my research I see that the LAND ROVER DEFENDER Wheel set up are 255/60/20 and the wheels are 8.5jx20 ET 41.5. Will the DEFENDER wheels fit my Disco 5?

Appreciate any help!

Thanks

I just picked up the exact same set to replace my stock 20's. Car is going in for service on 11/9 so I may have them do the swap and pull the TPMS sensors out of the current wheels. Just need to decide if I keep the old ones wrapped in the used Goodyears or just have them toss the tires so i can sell the wheels alone..

Usually you want to lower the air suspension before lifting the vehicle. This reduces pressure in the bladders. So if you Discount tire raised the air suspension they did it wrong.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure LR says to raise it. That's what I've always done. As the wheel articulates a very long way when you jack it up, so raising the air suspension first reduces the remaining travel and therefore the amount by which you have to jack it to get the wheel off the floor

My Discount Tire for years has told me to lock it in Access Mode before they lift it. Same for my LR3 since 2006.
But on the online Owner's Manual for my D5:
WARNINGFor vehicles fitted with an electronic air suspension, select off-road height before jacking the vehicle. See OFF-ROAD HEIGHT.

Wow, it's my Discount Tire stores that are ill informed. That said, I've been doing it in access mode for 16 years and never had an issue.
