The procedure can also be used for changing from low range to high range with the vehicle traveling at a speed of less than 37 mph (60 km/h).

So yesterday.... from a a stop, I put into low range.......... started driving.....when I reached 35mph I put it in Neutral, pressed High range button......after it lit up, I switched back to Drive........ worked flawlessly.

Hope this helps

Hi gmfain,

thanks for testing that. Must feel a little strange during shifting, rolling along in N until changeover is done. I assume you tried solo, i.e. without a trailer?

But again, is it needed every time when towing a trailer? I might be tempted to do so when driving off uphill on a steep mountain pass or somewhere offroad, but on a normal highway or in town? What do you think?

As a second thought it must also be possible without, as what would you do with a Disco without a transfer case...AFAIK they also have the same towing capacity.

Cheers

Hokewe

I don't think it is necessary. If you have a extremely heavy load, just use common sense and take of slow and easy, until you reach desired speed.
