When the time comes I'll probably use this:

That's a pretty good kit. ZF transmission on my BMW calls for a kit like that with a new pan including filter, new bolts, gasket and fluid.
My Discovery service manual just called for a drain and fill.
Not sure if that new pan and filter is needed, can't hurt.
But if we are changing the lifetime fluid at 60K miles, maybe we could skip the new pan and filter and replace it every other time at 120K miles.
Note that my service manual called for 8.5 Liters and that kit comes with 7 Liters. Maybe it all doesn't drain out but you might need to have a couple extra liters on hand just in case.

Per the kit supplier: My 8.5 Liter spec is for a dry fill - 7 Liters adequate for a drain and fill.

I use the torque pro app on my Android and Bluetooth DLA. Have you create custom trans Temp gauge with LR PID. The PID and process is online in LR forums.

Hi RyanLR3,
can you please be a bit more specific, as I do not get your remark. Similar to what LR disco 5 wrote, I am looking for what to use on my Disco 5 to check on TM temperature while towing.
Thanks

Download Torque Pro App. I got mine from Google play store.

you'll need one of these or similar
Amazon Amazon

Instructions below as to how to get and import Land Rover specific CAN messages. Do not use the transmission temp that comes with the torque app, it's not accurate. It displays the engine coolant temp.
