Hi guys,

New Discovery Landmark owner here. The forum was a great resource during the past two months as we identified the Discovery as a possible vehicle, and narrowed down the field.

I was looking to see if a tow hitch (ball mount) could fit in the rear floor storage compartment last night, and noticed there are cutouts for what appear to be tools. Does anyone know what is supposed to go there? (I quickly didn't see anything in the owners manual). Just wanted to make sure nothing was missing (leather cleaner wasn't in the car either, wondering if anything else got omitted accidentally).

I never figured it out and ultimately took out the foam piece to leave an open space to store shackles and hitch bits.

 

Exactly what I had in mind

 

I didn’t even have a foam piece in mine...

I store a tyre compressor, tyre gauge, Li-ion jump start pack, Leatherman and the locking wheel nut adapter in there. It all fits, just!

 

I’m pretty sure it’s for the tow hook adapter for the electrically deplorable tow ball that’s not offered in NA(?) and doesn’t have a tow loop.
