Wiper Challenge
I suppose but if they're on automatic and you start the vehicle before checking you would think there would be a relay that senses resistance and stops. Much older other cars have never done that. I thought maybe land rover made it get loose on purpose and there was a simple reset to get it on line. Thanks!

Haven’t looked at my Disco but every other car I’ve had has a bolt or nut on a stud under a removable or flip open cover where the wiper arm attaches to the shaft that rotates the arm. Usually but not always this attachment point is splined but some are not and if that’s the way the D5 is made you should be able to just tighten the nut or bolt. But don’t strip it or damage the drive motor and make certain the arm is in the correct parked position before tightening. Maybe yours was loose and maybe your other one is too loose too.
