Default Cannot Stop Searching for a Disco

Hi Everyone

Nice being here...

OK, I think I have a serious illness. I am scouring every know to man classified, ebay, etc. searching for the perfect used Disco. I am leaning toward going with a 2003 SE with higher mileage (72K) vs a 2002 with much lower mileage. If there is any good news, I have a buddy that works on Rovers for a living. I really like the idea of the upgrades on 2003 but should I worry about the miles? I am trying to get the service records but you know how that goes. I just saw Zach's issue on rotors going at a cost etc. I fully understand I will be opening the wallet abit.

Anyhow, higher miles with bigger engine/new headlights etc? I am leaning toward that.

I cannot wait to get this vehicle.

Thanks
Charlie L

Your golden if you have A buddy that can work on it for you ! Let him check it out first before you buy it. He sees all the problems so trust his opinion.

Thanks Bait

I am leaning toward the high mileage 03. I cannot wait so I will post the purchase once finalized. Certainly, I will have him check it out.

Has anyone had a previous model Disco compared to the redesigned 03? I am curious to hear about the advantages. Anyhow just curious...I did hear there are major sound improvements for starters....

I like my 98 discovery, i can do all the work on mine (4.0l v-8) I love it, If you do get one like any foren cars, be sure you can work on it or know someone who will, or just be ready to pay big $ to have it worked on.

i personally would buy the lower mileage one. LR repair is obviously really high, and its gonna be even higher for the newer parts, and not many used yet usable scraps available to you as there would be for the 2002. But that is me, the bigger engine is always a plus, but not worth it when it has bsically 30-40% if its life taken away.
