Default First Land Rover

Hi everyone,

I had been looking for a useful 4WD vehicle for a while as my second vehicle and looked at Jeep Cherokees/Grand Cherokees and then started looking at Discoveries. Seemed like such a better deal and better vehicle.

I had been considering several different Discoveries until I found his site. It was very helpful in deciding and weeding out the 03s that fell within the dreaded serial number range. So, today I picked up a '97 Discovery LSE Green with 84000 miles.

My g/f read that the green 97 LSE is rare (not why I bought it). The engine runs strong but the paint isn't perfect. I bought it as a second vehicle for use in the winter, hauling home stuff, and camping.

First things I need to do to it are:

1. New tires. They look like they could be the originals and are bald on the insides. I would like some more knobby, oversized tires though.

2. WeatherTech floormats

3. New wipers

4. Any other required maintenance that can recommended.

Thanks!
Steve

Your tyres suggest it might be worth checking your steering/suspension.
