hello all
Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Nick, and I purchaced my first land Rover last month. I had been driving a Jeep Cherokee for the last few years, but I had always wanted a land Rover. I decided on an 02 Discovery II SD. It seems to be in great condition and to have been well maintained. It has 126 k miles, but looks almost new. Just wanted to say hello to the forum. I live in Alabama, and am looking forward to going out in the Alabama wilderness to see what I can get into.

Before yourtrip, check the front prop shaft to be sure it is no longer stock. You want replaced or rebuilt with multiple grease fittings on the front, the stock one will shatter with almost no warning and spike a big hole in tranny. See write up on $100 rebuild in our tech section. Also look at the high miles service list, you'll be needing to start on that. Temp gauge should not be ignored above 50% of scale. Download the whole factory manuals set (owners, electrical, shop) called the RAVE at link below.
Have a lot of fun and post plenty of pictures. From Mobile to Huntsville you have one pretty state. And they know how to play football, y'all.
