Default Hello from Houston!

Hey, everyone. My name is Chris, and I am new to the forums. I bought a 2013 LR4 in December of 2016, and quite honestly, I haven't done much to learn about my vehicle since. Previously, I have only driven trucks, so moving to a fully enclosed vehicle gave me a ton of anxiety! Haha. I love the ride, but now I am interested in learning more and possibly making some aesthetic changes to a tougher, off-road look. Probably won't get to go off-road much right now with my two toddlers under 3, but I'd still like to start building it! Looking forward to learning from everyone!

Hi Chris,

Welcome to LRF, you can get a nice Baja Roof Rack, lamp guards, an ARB or front bull bar type bumper from Lucky8 or Tactical Rover. You can also install some Johnson Rod's to gain more off road height to get the look your looking for. It would look good, but also be handy in say the next Hurricane.

Glad your LR didn't get eaten up by Harvey! I have 5 LR's and not a one of em died from Harvey (my 99 D2 drove thru water over it's hood several times in Vidor, TX).

Thanks! We survived. I am grateful to have no effects tot he flood with regards to my vehicles and home!

I just took a look at the Johnson Rods site. Pretty easy to do? I've looked at a few install videos, and that looks to be the case. To be clear, I'll get a higher lift in my normal height mode, allowing clearance for the bigger tires? Forgive me. Total novice here!

Yes that is correct. However if the EAS has an issue and drops you could have some serious rubbing issues if you go to big on the tires.

Partial to the Baja Rack myself, but prefer the Proud Rhino front bumper.

We have the Proud Rhino lift rods on the 07 LR3 and have been really happy with them.

I also have added some lights, 2 piece TerraFirma underbody skids, and bigger tires.

The one Modification I wouldn't leave home without though, is my GAP IID tool. It's a life saver.

The one I wheel the 06 has a Lucky8 coil conversion kit on it. So I am permanently in off-road height. So no worries of EAS collapse, but they also have the SYA kit for the air sprung rovers to make sure you get home.
