Hi there everyone, i've only just joined this forum and am already asking for help! I have a 94 discovery 300tdi, which i love, but i have no mechanical knowledge at all! Recently whilst cruising on the motorway in 5th gear it jumped out of gear. ( it had done this twice b4 but went back in no problem) This time it wouldn't go back in and i frantically tried to push it in. It made the awful crunching noise u hear when you've not engaged gear properly. I came to a halt on the hard shoulder. It is now stuck in 5th gear but the gear lever says its in neutrel. do i need a new gear box or could it be something simpler like the leaver itself? Remember i'm a complete novice so if any of that doesn't make sense, i'm sorry.
