Default how much can I safely pull?

I have a 2006 lr3 with a V6 and I am going to buy a travel trailer and the one I want is a 26ft x lite that weighs 4500lbs. I called Land Rover and they said that it was the same as the V8 and that I can pull up to 7700lbs. That just doesn't make sense to me but even at the RV place they confirmed it so my question to all you (the experts) is this going to be safe for me to tow cause I don't want to be blowing my transmission or motor etc... any input will be very appreciated. Thanks

from owner manual, where it makes no mention of engine size,

Maximum permissible towed weights On-road................... Off-road
Unbraked trailers ........................750 kg (1654 lb.)........ 750 kg (1654 lb.)
Trailers with overrun brakes ........3500 kg (7716 lb.).......1000 kg (2205 lb.)
Roof rack load
(including the mass of roof rack)..... 75 kg (165 lb.)........... 50 kg (110 lb.)
Maximum permissible tongue weight 250 kg (550 lb.)......... 250 kg (550 lb.)
