Default My transmission shudders at 80kmoh/2000rpm

Hi everyone, i have a S2, TD5 Disco,2001, auto trans. and recently did some reasonably heavy towing, 7 x 5hr trips to be precise, sitting on between 80-100clicks. Since the last & final trip i've noticed a very obvious 'shudder!' that im very confident is caused by the auto trans. Happens at about 80kmph/2000revs. I had the fluid level checked, needed 3 1/2litres! but the problem is still there. I've learnt to manage it right until it's repaired, i just drop back on acceleration/revs as i near the abovementioned range(s) but there's an obvious problem that need's attention and i'd like to get some advice before i visit the transmission specialist. What do you think? Cheers

First, get rid of the blue text, then read the top of this section where it says"NO QUESTIONS". Not sure why people can't read.
If you still have a question, post it in the Discovery 2 section.

Default Thankyou

Well thankyou for the warm welcome. . That actually was my first ever forum post so i am deeply sorry that i did'nt get it absolutely spot on.
I was expecting a bit more 'spirit' than expressed in your 'retired service manager' style response. However, i sincerely all is forgiven now that ive got the shade of text right or would you like this black a little darker or lighter, im flexible?. Thanks very much but i think this will be a short visit for me on this site purely based on the attitude permiating from you through your response.

actually before repairing it, try a bg transmission flush, basically they hook up a machine that flushes all sixteen quarts and then we add a protectant. Still works on ford transmissions so there may be a chance to save it. but its also possible the ujoints in the front driveshaft are starting to go as well.
