Default New Discovery II Owner in Los Angeles

Greetings, Rover Enthusiasts. After an 8-month search, last October I bought a 2000 Discovery II. Yesterday the "Service Engine Soon" indicator came on. That aside, I am very pleased with the Disco, which is a bit older than I had wanted, but is in excellent condition and has relatively low mileage.

Welcome. The shop and owner's manual are called the RAVE, and are a free download below. You have a trouble code stored that can be read by a dealer for big $, an indy shop for $89, or free at most car parts stores. And you can buy your own reader/scanner, like the Ultra Gauge. If having it read, write down the number and post back here or look up in the RAVE - before you buy any parts.

And here I thought LA was "lower Alabama".

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded the RAVE manual and will be back with results within a day or so. I believe I have a coolant leak somewhere around the heater matrix, which may have set off the Service Engine light. We'll see.
