Default That new guy!!!

Hello everyone, I just purchased my 1st Land Rover, 2000 SE7 with 150+ miles. I really like all the info in this site and all the DIY threads. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome. You'll find the complete set of free download factory tech and owner's manuals at link below. In the technical area of the forum are lists of high miles service items that need to be done.

If your drive shafts have grease fittings, they need grease ech time you change oil. If no fittings, rebuild soon, write up is in tech section, takes 3 U-joints. Front prop shaft starts making a chirp sound, right before it comes apart and impales the transmission.

Watch temp gauge like a hawk. Anything over 9:00 is suspect. You do not want to overheat this engine or very, very bad things will happen. Like slipped cylinder liner, cracked block, leaking head gaskets.

Oil light comes on at 7 PSI. So you can cruise around grinding down your engine at 9 PSI and not know it. Check fluids daily for first week, then weekly from then on.

Oil change every 5000 miles, don't care what brand. Shell Rotella 15W40 is a good high cleaning oil.

Have fun, post early and often, pix are always interesting.

Thank you for all the info. I have her parked right now while I wait for fluids and tune up parts. I have a few issues with it, The Disco had a vibration from 0 to 20 while I accelerate and then it goes away. Someone told me it could be a driveshaft or the parking brake drum. Any info would be nice. Thanks again for all your help.
