Hello All,
I'm Rick from Lexington VA. Just bought an 03 Discovery. I love the outdoors so I'm hoping this gets me where I need to go. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Welcome.

Every new owner needs to know these important facts.

1. The RAVE is the set of shop and owner manuals, free download below.

2. The D2 has a factory front drive shaft with no grease fittings on the double U joints. When the grease is cooked out by CATS, they will split with almost no warning, and then beat a hole in the transmission case. Avoid by rebuild now (article in our tech area) or an aftermarket shaft.

3. The temp gauge is programmed by a computer weasel at Bosch to point at 50% from about 130 to 240F. This allows you to drive along at 227 and think everything is just peachy. Use an OBDII device that shows live data to see the real figures. Scan gauge, Ultra Gauge ($70), bluetooth adapter and smarty phone app, etc. An alternate temp themostat of 180F is available. Note pix of two trucks, different temps, same gauge reading.
