Default Newbie D2 owner!

Hello! I just joined after picking up my first Land Rover. Its a 2004 D2, 2 owners with full records back to sale. Like any Rover, it had some quirks and things to take care of so in the week or so since I've taken delivery, I've replaced the thermostat with a 180F motorad unit, changed the oil, replaced spark plugs, wires, and coil packs due to an intermittent misfire, and added an Ultragauge and Grom BT adapter.

Next up on the list to take care of are the diff and t-case fluids. The transmission fluid and filter was done about 10k miles ago by the previous owner so will leave that alone for now. Currently on the search for some 16" alloys if anyone has a set in CA they'd like to pass on to a new owner! Also have a 2" lift planned along with a new front drive shaft and rear flex disc since those haven't been touch on this truck and its done about 138k miles. The disc is cracking and the front shaft only has a single nipple. I greased everything up that I could on both drift shafts but they hadn't been done in quite some time it seems!

You seem to have everything under control. What part of California are you in? Good idea on replacing the rotoflex. One thing I recommend is to swap it out for the new one but keep the old one as a spare in the car if you plan on wheeling or venturing out. Good luck, you are going to have a blast with it.

Thanks @Rlozano! I'm based in SF but split time between the bay and LA.

Good idea on keeping the old flex disc as a spare. I did see some cracks in it already which is what prompted me to also add it to the shopping list with the lift. May just order a second since they're not terribly expensive just to have around.

Nice, I am also in the Bay Area. You should look into joining the Northern California Land Rover Club (NCLR), good group of people who like to wheel.
