Hello everyone, I just bought a 2000 Disco II for my wife, she loves it! 105k Kent Green, tan interior, 7 seater. So far we couldn't be happier. The PO did a great job maintaining it, a few cosmetic flaws to touch up but nothing major. Part of the low selling price was it needed a rear wheel bearing, a drag link, and a condenser fan. We have checked the wheel bearing and condenser off the list. Drag link is this week. I also replaced the secondary air solenoid due to some codes we were getting. I look forward to learning more about the vehicle and we are already looking at buying a 2000ish Range Rover or a Disco I for me.

 

Welcome, and please take advantage of the free RAVE download of factory technical manuals, covering workshop, electrical, body and interior repairs, owners guide, etc. The forums have technical sections where lots of fixes to routine problems are listed, plus lists if things to do to keep'em rollin'. If you DIY you'll need the manual. If you maintain by open checkbook, it still helps to know what is going on, how complex a repair is, etc.

The D1's are less electrically complex than the D2, in the D1 tech section there is a comparison of them, and things to look for when buying a Discovery.

If you don't see what you need, just ask on the appropriate forum, you will get answers, ideas, and SWAG (Scientific Wild A** Guess).

I think a number of members would prefer the Disco over the Rangie of that era, warts and all.

Haha, not yet, I'm working too many hours. I do wind turbine wiring. I am working in Breckenridge almost around the clock.

 

Sweet!! I'm all for wind farms, there is a huge one thats going to go in off the coast of Ludington in the next few years.
50 turbines I think it will be, 5 miles off shore.
