Newbie from Michigan
Hi all,
I’m new to the forum. I’ve been a fan of LR for years and am now consdering purchasing my first one. We need a larger family car for my wife and, due to where we live, AWD or 4x4 is preferred. I’m looking in the disco line because of the 7 passenger seating. I’ve read that every generation has it’s issues. I’m okay with a little bit of non-major work (not internal engine or tranny related) and regular PM, but don’t want to buy something that is a project. What would be a good year/generation to look at? My budget is ~$10k, but could go a little more if that got me into a year/gen, that has less issues.
Thanks in advance!

I'm from Ontario and have hunted with and had lots of fun with fellow Yoopers.
The LR leaves lots of fun and options for our landscape.
Just be careful for what you pay for such fun and plan for some maintenance.
Just to be advised: The third row seating is pretty much made for children sized people.
I drive 2006 LR3 HSE and have had easily 6 people + a dog comfortably with the roof and trailer hitch rack stuffed hitting north of the Soo.
Have fun!

Me, if l were not a mechanic (or someone that is mechanically inclined) the LR3 or LR4 would be in my sights. Nice headroom in the rear still for passengers and plenty of storage. You can find some pretty nice examples for around your price point. I'd be looking at the 06/07/08 year models...or newer.
Good luck, with your endeavor.
Brian.
