Default Picking it up tomorrow!

Well, I hope to be a "Disco Girl" by this time tomorrow. The hubby and I are driving 5 hours to pick up our Discovery II SE that we purchased on ebay. It has 60K miles and by all indications is in great shape. We shall see. I can't wait to add the brush guard and a few other extras in time. I am alittle nervous because a friend bought one used a few years ago and had alot of problems. After doing my research I've convinced myself that it was a definite lemon (at least I'm hoping that was the case).

So, after we get home, hopefully with the new Disco, I'll check back in. It's nice to find this forum.

Hi Mike. It's an '02. He tells me all service records are with the truck. I also checked out the vehicle history online and that looks good. Getting kind of excited, we're leaving in an hour. I'll let you know how it goes.

Wooo hooo! We picked her up Saturday and couldn't be happier. I'm officially a Disco Girl now. We're already buying things to dress her up. It was a fun drive back from Houston. Really got a good feel for the vehicle and now know why owners are so die hard. It's so much fun. We can't wait to take it off road. I guess I'll be checking in now and then and I'll post some pics when we have it looking the way we want it.

So Amy, what sort of changes are you planning on making on the truck? How many miles on her?
Do you want a list of web sites to look at all the fun Rover toys?

Thank would be great Mike. I'd love to see the websites.

We want to add a brush guard (I think that's what it's called). Hubby wants to get the chrome kit for the grill. I have a question for you. Can you replace the headlights on the '02 with the ones for the '03? Someone on ebay is selling a headlight upgrade kit and it seems that it would look sharp. Still considering that but I did want to ask here first.

Oh, and the truck has about 60K miles.

Amy,
Has the 60K service been done yet? That should be the first on your list of things to do.
What do you plane to do with the truck, any off roading?
Yes you can upgrade the head lights.
You going to add chrome to the front end and a brush guard, usually chrome doesn't go well with the black brush guards.
Here are a couple of sites to look at.
Atlantic British, have then send you a catalog.

Now don't blame me f you guys go crazy at any of these sites.

Thanks so much Mike for the great websites.

The truck will have a split personality...grocery getter during the week and off-roader on weekends.

The hubby is taking her in for a checkup this week since we're right over 60K miles. Hopefully not too much to fix.

I do have one question for you. There is a very small (but annoying enough) area of the interior where the ceiling fabric is sagging. Is there a way to fix that without replacing the whole thing?
