The bad:
1600 miles in, 3 weeks in to ownership (2d owner), tranny fails with "transmission fault" engine revving, transmission slipping, stuck with family 200 miles away from home - #priceless
LR rep told me in-service-date: 5/14/2018, out of warranty: 5/13/2022
Carfax shows:
- One dealer used to car for 6772 miles - https://www.landroverschaumburg.com/
- They auctioned the car to another dealer- https://www.landroverdfw.com/ (why?)
- DFW (2d) dealer sold the car in DEC of 2018 to its first retail owner (I contacted the initial owner, he was polite and responsive - confirmed miles and timings). It does not look like it was CPO car (why?)...
- Car is traded in to non Land Rover dealer in Dec of 2022
- I buy the car on 1/27/2023 with 54,437miles, and I love it for 3 weeks/1600miles
- car transmission broke on 2/19/2023 with 56,098 miles, 200miles away from home
- I still have temporary tags, and did not even start sanding in my payments in - should I laugh or should I cry?...
This is ridiculous!!! - Why Land Rover did not sell a car with ONLY 6772miles as CPO car as all scheduled maintenance was performed by dealer?.... Why they auctioned the car between LR dealers? - to make it a non-CPO? To dispose of their loaners with clean hands?...
I believe, CPO Demo/executive cars get 1 year unlimited miles and 2 years 100,000 on top of factory.
This is just not fair - plain and simple!
I need some steam here - it just does not seem right and I am not letting this one go!!!
