Default The sound of water

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, live in Dubai, am Australian and own an automatic 2001 Disco S2. It's done 150,000km. Lately i have noticed what sounds like water running when i push the gas pedal. It happens in when in gear and in neutral, moving or stationary. There does not appear to be any performance issues at all.

I'm worried it may be the start of a transmission problem.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you have a coolant leak and now have air trapped in the coolant system. Time to check for leaks, probably do a coolant presuure test to verify a leak. Check your coolant levevl and add a needed.

Amny thanks for the quick reply.

One other question. I noticed today the steering seemed a little uncertain. Seems like I need to correct a little to often. However the car tracks fine and does not pull to either side. Nor is there excessive play in the wheel. The tires are due for rotation having done 30K in their present position. Could that be problem or should i suspect something a little deeper

Thanks

Geoff

Tire wear, amount of air pressure, warn out steering stabilizer and possibly a need to have the toe setting checked on your alignment.
So much for my thoughts.
