I am in the market for a Disco II and found one, 2001, with 105k and in great condition inside and out. They are asking $8500. Blue book looks like 10,500. Should I be worried about this? What are some things to look for specifically with Land Rovers? Im mechanically savvy so I know the general stuff but are there any common problems? Im going to run the VIN and see if anything comes up. Im new here obviously so Hi to everyone. Ill be around putting my 2 cents in and stealing some from time to time. Thanks for your help.

 

Welcome James, Try and get the service history. but you should be safe with a Disco II the main problems were with the air suspension, ACE and sometimes overheating.

A couple of thoughts, that truck has a lot of mileage for an 01. I would suggest you calulate the blue book, leass the mileage and then look at the low book numbers as a place to start with.
As for problems, mentioned above, I have a 99 D2 with ACE, the rear air supsension and neither have been a problem other then I did replace the rear air bags due to a slight leak.
There are a lot of D2's out there, many with low mileage so I would suggest you search around and take your time, you should be able to find a 01 with around 50 to 60,000 mile on it.
