I am in the process of spending way too much money and all of my time working on the green guy, the Black one had been neglected by a college student and since green was hidden in a garage for years I robbed some parts off it. The LR mechanic I found by sheer luck is in a small town 10 miles away has helped me immensely needed the block so I swapped it for his letting me use his lift (his loaner car newer RR) and knowledge. So some parts are gone but I need to sell the black one with everything atill
there but the motor and the accessory drive items off the front. I tried them on mine and thy also needed bearings and make horrific sounds. So if anyone needs parts off it or wants it I have the title and it needs a motor. I drove it before he took the block out. I hated to start taking parts off it but it was the right thing to do since he needed it. I have changed the oil 4-6 times because it was coming out dark, the trans fluid 3 times with filter, I cut the crossmenber out and welded it back with 2 plates off to one side so I could just remove it without dropping exhaust or drive shaft. Plugs, wires, wheel speed sensors, knock sensors, (the worst item I know of the oil pressure switch, drops oil everywhere) swapped alternator with Black one it was bad, both swivel ball greased both diffs drained and synthetic oil back, drivers side axel, rotor and caliper, and small items that weren't broken off Black onto Green. I just came across the forum and I
dont even want to get into the arguments about what to use and not use. Some folks get really mad and talk down to us new owners. Gotta remember to some of us we never thought we would own one of the beauties. Wife wants me to buy a new truck, I told her we didn't have enough room for it and my Disco! Thanks for making me comfortable here.

The black one has the original boost wheels. Extremely popular and generally bring a few hundred for a decent set. Hard to find since they were a LSE only thing

What would it take to remove the baked on brake dust you think? A drill with a polishing pad maybe?

I used simple green in a spray bottle and the blue colored (I think) non scratch pad with the sponge on the other side. Your saying most people like the wheels on the black one? I prefer the more plain on. The green one, or maybe I like them because they are on it and I don't want to swap. Ha.
now that the motor is gone out of the black one and a couple other parts should I sell it while or part by part it has the Rear Ac and The seats in the back which are really cool. I bet y'all know that.

Default What to do?

What do y'all think I should do with the black one? No motor and the accessories off the front of the motor but the rest is there. Rear Ac and jump seats and all the rest, sell it as it sits or take the parts out and move them one at a time.

As it sits $500 or less for the truck is most likely what you would see. Parting it will take time and patience but could yield more money

Yep. Truck isnt worth much. You could take a few interior photos of the driver passenger area, backseats and the rear cargo area and post here. Maybe someone is looking for something and photos help in that aspect. Craigslist may work. It’s probably a long shot but im still looking for a clean, functioning cargo cover for my D1. Talk about hard to find.

Does it have working fog lights? Any photos of the front of the black one? There was someone looking for those a few days back.
