Hey guys my name is Josh and I live in Texas. I found a guy selling a 96 D1 on craiglist for $500 so I went to check it out. He said it just wouldn't start and it had been sitting since feb. So I offered him $300 and he took it. Towed it home and charged the battery overnight. Reset the alarm the next morning and voila it fired right up. Scanned it and had 10 codes. All misfires and emissions due to misfires. Replaced plugs and wires and it runs perfect. Front seats are rough but other than that not bad at all for $300. Looking forward to learning and sharing on this site.

 

Good deal. WHole set of shop manuals (the RAVE) is a free download below. If there is a boneyard near you, passenger seats will fit on driver side, about $27 each at yards near me. Hard to find a decent driver seat. D2 seat no fit. As a Texan, you'll want to think about swapping out the thermostat with a 180F model, about $10 plus gasket.
