What really pains me is, I wish my girlfriends mom (who drives the Discovery) used it off-road as it was intended. Not for just a status symbol. Its their money they can spend it how they see fit. I guess some folks have to keep the dealers open by paying top dollar for service. I had a very poor experience 4 years ago at that dealer. I will only buy emergency needed parts from them. I know there are good dealers out there. Like Spike was saying awhile back...dealers are independent franchises so service and expertise can very greatly. I still dont understand the 3x part markup. Seems like it pisses off customers, who still need to buy from you in the future. I guess they count on the naive and non mechanically inclined. There are plenty of those folks out there.

Land Rover was designed as farm equipment (well actually a bicycle) that has since evolved to an off road vehicle and a status symbol . Everyone has their own idea of what these vehicles are meant for. I guess we're all posers in the other status class' eyes..

I feel this way about anyone that can profit from me because i don't know.

Everything in life is about money and making money. (it really isn't all about money imho) For people with money $5000.00 is nothing (Really).

I make a living providing expensive service as a dealer tech, it's not a glorious living by any means. This is my life, more than 1/3 of my life as a Land Rover Tech... Uggg!!!

Honestly I can't vouch for any dealership as a whole. Service work, parts pricing, or ethical standards. I can only vouch for the service work I perform and ethical standards I have at the dealer that employes me. I'm still proud of my profession and am comfortable at this point in my life.

Like Spike was saying a while back...dealers are independent franchises so service and expertise can very greatly.
This is true for any line of business.

I can say all the techs I know and work with are proud of their profession, have good ethical standards, and do the best work they are capable of.

Respectfully
