Agreed. There are very consistent rates of mortality year to year. Well, in the last year we’ve seen 530,000 additional deaths. No matter how you spin it, that’s what happened. It’s not that a significant proportion were misattributed to covid or that covid is just like the flu. No, it’s a half million people who are now dead in addition to all that die anyhow from other causes. I can’t believe I’m even having to explain this at this point.

You're dead right, that's the system working, great article from July 2020. The surveillance system needs to track outbreak (you want to know all cases, right?), cause of death however is immutable. So surveillance is "with", CoD is "from". This is clarified nicely in the more recent article below December 2020, and you no doubt saw similar reporting & explanation out of OR.

What is interesting is if the WA with / cause ratio (~96%) holds true nationally, the 500k US number would still be 477k.It doesn't materially affect the excess death during this period either. Thanks for pointing that out.

 

That is just the ones they were forced to reverse... I think it's the tip of the iceberg. I don't think you can assume a similar data rate across all states, everywhere is different, depending on the state and local officials. In WA the governor was incentivizing the placing of CV-19 positive elderly people into nursing homes and long term care centers even after the first major outbreak in Kirkland one year ago. Just like Cuomo, only at this point, most of the news is afraid to talk about it...

In the early days, last summer state authorities (as well as the CDC) were conflating positive Covid tests with positive antibody tests. This boosted the "Cases" number. This and false positive test results due to 40 cycle PCR testing which is several times more sensitive than needed leads to a new definition of what a case actually is. Used to be a case was an actual sick person. Now with the 40 cycle PCR test a case is any positive result with or without symptoms even if the person later tests negative.

So yeah, I don't trust the government or their numbers. They've been caught cheating too often... even if it is supposed to be "for our own good."

 

So I got the Pfizer BioNTech mRNA shot on Thursday at about 1040 in the morning, didn't feel a thing, woke up 0230 Friday morning with a slight pain in my left arm where the jab took place, no swelling. Had a good belt of rum and went back to sleep, no problem and woke up with no pain. It is now Sunday evening 1150 PM (2350) and heading for bed, just letting you all know that I have not died, nor do I think I am being tracked by aliens, at least my IFR AM/FM 1200 communications monitor says there are no radio signals emanating from my body. Night...

my local medical experts said if you dont feel pain or symptoms the shot is not working, but if you feel discomfort and side effects the shop is working, my wife works at a hospital and there has been quiet a few lumps on people that took the shot that are not going away

Here in Alberta for the 2018-2019 flu season there were 56 deaths, which is approximately normal, and the 2020-2021 Covid-19 deaths were 1,960 (no flu cases or deaths). My father's family endured the pandemic of 1918-1919 and they also had smallpox vaccinations, which they all believed in. Myself and brothers and sister all had smallpox, polio and measles vaccinations in the 1950's and early 1960s, and I regularly get annual flu shots, so this Covid-19 vaccination is not a stressor for me. I personally only know one person who is not going to get the shot, so that's about 1/2 % of family and friends/co-workers. From health care workers I know, dying from Covid-19 is usually prolonged and involves a lot of drugs, so I'd like to be as safe as I can be, and keep my family, friends and co-workers safe too. Another $0.02 worth...

 

Got my first shot of the Pfizer today. Feeling a tad flu like, but nothing like the virus. I work in Northern NJ. Over the last year we have had several hundred people get sick and six of them die in my building alone. I had it over a year ago and my lungs are still not fully recovered. Seriously people, get the vaccine. This is not a flu. It does permanent damage. It is very real. You do not want a bad case of this. I cannot wait until April 12th to get the second shot.
