My 101 year old mother (who still lives at home) just got her Pfizer shot today, thank goodness! Everyone has their own take on this SARS-Cov-2 virus, but I'm really glad my mother got the shot...

You guys need better separation between politicians and public servants. We all should be able to trust the numbers, and public officials should do their jobs without fear.

Where you and I would agree is the long term care debacle. There are long term care population quality instruments that categorically quantify care requirements. Where all jurisdictions fail is the fulfilment of these requirements - minimum wage, no benefits, no sick leave - due to cost. The number is big. It always gets punted elsewhere. If we can't manage our most vulnerable population, we have no chance with the broader.

We "should" be able to trust the #'s no doubt, but sorry I don't.

We have illegals crossing the border like crazy now with probably a ton of illegal substances on them along with fully auto firearms, and that's not even mentioning if they've got COVID or not then there is the entire human trafficking thing. Biden just passed that job over to his VP to handle.....

So no being a Texan and seeing what happens when thousands of illegals sneak into our country and the current administration acts like it's nothing = no faith in their COVID #'s or what they'll do to stop all the above from happening.

Well, in my research work scientific credentials are a definite prerequisite, so I'm hoping that all those who don't believe in the Covid-19 science/medicine are willing to donate their vaccine share to the underprivileged in some third world country. So far I'm not seeing many volunteers...

As far as illegal immigrants go, we have our fair share, mostly people fleeing oppressive regimes loaded with corruption, we all better start to realize that we live in the best countries in the world, and we are the fat cats. That is of course why everyone (or mostly everyone) is stampeding to get to here or at least any western democracy that offers a half decent life....

Maybe we all should accept the fact that we are here in North America because we decimated the original native populations, so perhaps are we not part of the problem? Just throwing that thought experiment out in the wild, another $0.02 worth...

I've spent a lot of time in TX & have great friends throughout. It's a wonderful place. Right there is the problem - it should be OK to agree on numbers and disagree on policy. Instead folks dispute numbers that don't suit them. I've spent enough time in literally banana republics that it steams me. So never mind the COVID numbers for now, but it's the same people that mismanaged the power grid tried pretty hard to hide the numbers that implicated their incompetency?

BTW I'm not left or right wing, sadly I've devolved to voting for the least dishonest and most competent. A comperatrian?

I used to be in the middle but the middle moved.

I think politicians have pretty much always been the same, just never before have there been so many spotlights and microphones.

We of a certain age have been raised to not trust the government, most politicians are crooked b@$tards... except of course for "my" politician.

Skepticism is healthy for a democracy... And a Republic too.

How's everyone doing?... vaccinated and feeling like things may return to some sort of 'normal'? After 13 months of searching and interviewing for jobs, I'm ecstatic to say that I'm going back to work soon. And as crazy as it sounds, the past year kind of flew by and dragged all the same. Is that even possible?

How are things in your neck of the woods?

Our family are booked for our 2nd Pfizer (mRNA) shots for June 30, I had one co-worker (unfortunately a denial type) die on Dec 19 2020, very disappointing. Hope all are getting their shots, I remember the Polio epidemic, and it sure scared the living daylights out of all of our parents at the time...
Work in my field has basically returned to normal, but the energy industry is changing, maybe have to brush up on nuclear skills...

Hvac field here in Canada never stopped working and I still think it’s crazy they shut down the world because the old folks were dying instead of protecting them with strict rules and doubling down the old folks still died in bunches still locked up in the rooms

no I will not take a vaccine that was built in a few months with no real testing

is it just me or does it really feel like the government really wants you to struggle and depend on them ?? It sure feels like that way

many business and peoples life’s have been destroyed. Still can’t get a hair cut here and still can’t walk into even a junk yard for goodness sake

but yet no worries you can smoke drink eat the crappy food all you want The death is just slower no worries

the whole thing makes no sense to me.
