Do you know the "waving" rule?
Just bought my first LR LR3 ever yesterday and was so excited to see all the other LR's on my 4 hour drive back home from Salt Lake to western CO and saw none... When on the way up I saw like 15.
I will def be waving on road now, I've always given the 2 finger wave to everyone when going off road, THAT is an unwritten rule that you wave to everyone and if they don't wave back then you hope they get a flat 😎

Now, just try to get that out of your head.

I drove a rented D110 from Capetown to Namibia a few years ago. All the other Land Rover drivers waved. The Toyota Land Cruiser guys did not wave.
Around here, it seems the Rover drivers really are soccer moms or guys saying "hum look at all the commoners". From what I can tell, most people just don't get it. I've thought about this thread a lot since we got ours. Bunch of dufuses out there!!
I've been trying to do this but I find it hard because most rover drivers have tinted windows (as do I). So most of the time I can't see the other driver or they can't see me. I can say that since I've tried to start doing this, I've had NO ONE at all wave back to me as of yet, idk if I'm doing it wrong or if its the dark windows or what's going on.

Wow, had no idea there was a culture or even a rule. When I had a Pinzgauer there was a lot of waving to other pinzies as there were only about five of them in the whole state. Same with the Mog I had.
Now I have an LR there seems to be a bit of a non issue with sort blending into the crowd.
I did wave to one the other day and he waved back, what a shock.
Now that I know, I'll begin...especially to others that seem to have some sort of off road vibe going. The off road group I am in has 5 LR owners and we do feel special, at least there.

Back in the 70's and 80's in the UK MGB and MGA owners used a 'knowing clubby type wave' to each other.
These days in the UK if you waved to someone in another similar car/truck they would give you either a two fingered wave back, report you to the police or call a shrink for you.
Apart from Smart car owners the waving fashion has virtually disappeared.
