Do you know the "waving" rule?
Just got my Rover after selling my mustang. There's supposedly a waving culture with stangs, but I never saw it. I'm excited to have some dudes and dudettes who will wave back for once! On that note, should the wave be a full on wave? 2 lifted fingers? Wave out the window? Wave from top of wheel? I'm starting to think that the stang owners didn't wave back because of my wave method. The ol' lean out the window and start waving frantically move. Any suggestions on waving tactics??

You'll know a true LR enthusiast when he/she waves back at you!

I have come to the conclusion that it's 50/50 success rate and that depends entirely on where abouts you live. In more upper class, snooty or heavy urban areas people tend not to wave back for either of three reasons:
1) they're too busy fkking around with their phones and not paying attention
2) they think they are better than everyone else, or
3) they simply are oblivious to the wave culture.
However, there are exceptions.
People who live in a slightly more friendly town, rural areas or places where people actually have some common decency, you are highly likely to get a wave back.
A wave is a sign that the other driver is an enthusiast. No wave back is a sign that they are clueless. I don't get angry when they fail to wave. I just peg them as clueless.
So, I find that our waving culture is a little different, it's not just waving for no apparent reason - it is a way to identify others (and get recognized in return).Yes, it's fun.
These days, I basically wave at every Landy/Rangie I pass by.
Just don't get upset if you only have a 50% success rate. Like I say: it's a way to identify. If they don't wave back then it simply means theyare not part of the "enthusiast club". That's all. They probably bought their car so they could pose in it.

If I see you, I'll wave crazily! Lol.
Welcome to the club!

In Toronto I've just been at nodding acknowledgement level, but I've been in Florida for a few weeks and now know just how rare they are down here. I've seen two disco's the whole time I've been here. Including on the drive down.
Now thinking of skipping waving and jumping right to flagging them down for a hug.

Yeah, all those Florida country boys like to "buy American" so you don't see too many quality British-made vehicles on the roads. I went last year, was the same.
