Garage warranties on work done
Just thought I would get some other opinions on this.
My other truck (I have a disco II but unfortunately also an 01 Explorer) needed new plugs and wires last december, and as at the time I did not have a chance to replace them myself, I took it to a local garage where they also cleaned the fuel system. 6 months later and the truck is spluttering, and so I take it to my new garage who I have now built up a relationship of trust from working on my Land Rover.
He tells me the wires have been installed badly, and several of them are melted through from resting on the exaust manifold. I have spoke to the garage who did the poor quality work, and they have offered to only refund the cost of the wires as I did not have the rectifying work done with them.
Does this seem fair? I am from the UK and over there I could threaten them with small claims court but I am not sure how things work over her in the US.
