You forget that even though many federal employees won't get paid, they'll still have to report for work.

 

Some do, some don't, SWMBO is in the first group. Political theater on a grand stage by those who get a special subsidy on their health care. And we already had 11 days of furlough this year. And while they're out, no paperwork moves. So it was a bad idea, can't afford one anyway.

If an employer does not provide health been for full time workers employer fined $2500 per worker, to insure that worker on average is $11k per year it is cheaper to pay the fine

OR use the loophole make entire workforce part time 29 hours per week now employer will not be fined WORKER WILL BE FINED $2500 for no insurance

Worker cannot get free state insurance because employed and makes too much

So you get workers being fined for not having insurance they cannot afford or work off the books and use free state insurance

Employers reap all the benifits here, and as for the gov employ not getting payed, when they reopen the gov pays for the missed work so it is like a payed vacation for some (this is how a gov emp friend explained it to me) if the media told the full truth this country would be better off
