LOL yeah, same here. Of course my first one was a Series farm truck we bought with a Farmall Super C, although I'd always wanted one. If I was just getting in to 4WD in the past few years I don't know what I'd buy.
When I was in high school I was looking at CJ5's,


but then decided I wanted something larger for traveling, so was looking at J20 pickups.


Then we moved to VA and I realized how much I liked our 1970 Travelall that I drove in high school


So started looking at IH 200 series pickups


But I couldn't afford the $4000 they cost new. So I bought one of these beasts (like the one in the foreground).

 

my first D1 was the first car I bought on my own, before that I had a pile of hand-me-down Honda's and a Ford. I bought the D1 because my friend worked at a dealer and got me into the Camel Trophy. Don't know what I was thinking getting a car loan for a D1 while still in college. still don't know what I'm thinking 9 rovers later. oh yeah the combination of crap i will need to get 35's under my classic....that's what i'm thinking.
