should you get one? well, why do you want one?

Are they reliable? Define reliable

Are they high maintanice? Again please define

Do they break down easily? like leave you stranded? no

YOu have asked some very loaded questions. What is your budget, mechanical ability, plans for the truck and type you are looking for?

Default Of course you should get a Land Rover!

Logan, the short answers to your questions are YES, YES and NO. But there are a lot of IF's IMHO....

LR's are VERY Reliable IF you maintain them.

LR's are High Maintenance ........Not much room for IF's here

LR's will break down easily IF you don't maintain them, but so will a brand new car.

mjbrox has it right on the money, those are very loaded questions and it depends on your definitions of the words....

Get a D1 and do not blow all your money on the truck. You will need if for repairs

I enjoy my D1 I've had for 5 years and I off road it hard. It's been very reliable off road and on road except for one time when I tore up the rear suspension on a difficult Utah trail and one time when the ridiculous aluminum steering shaft connector went out unexpectedly off road and I lost all steering. It's high maintenance but it's been a much better vehicle than I expected. I only bought it for off roading purposes and would never buy one as a highway only soccer mom type vehicle. You do have to keep kissing it and the ground it drives on. Much higher maintenance than my good wife is but LR ownership has been worth it.
