Hmmm, yeah, by a country mile ................. bit of a cheat though really as it was a SEMSEC race SEMSEC car racing and sprints at Lydden Circuit and Brands Hatch which is a regional amateurs race, not that there is anything wrong with that, but I had an international A licence and experience and it was therefore rather unfair. I was using it as a test day/warm up race in early season before the real stuff started.
This was my life and fun back then and not some of the regional races.

You're right Senormac, it's adrenalin charged and frantic. Most races, unless one trails around at the back, are dangerous and you sustain damage nearly every outing. Lot's of action every race and sometimes there have been quite serious crashes where cars have flipped over and barrel rolled 6 or 7 times but thankfully not me. It's not the most revered motor sport but it is certainly entertaining as witnessed by the crowds who attend. When I sold the Caterham to the Japanese in circa 1996 I then bought an historic 1982 Pilbeam F2 single seater race car (slicks aand wings) which was less manic but extremely fast with only a 1600 Cosworth Ford BDA engine but it revved to nearly 11,000 rpm coupled to a Hewland FT200 transaxle gearbox. It's the first time I'd raced a single seater with adjustable front and rear wings and running on huge slicks and it was like driving on rails around bends with lots of downforce and totally different after the Caterham's.
