TD5 Disco 2 65MPH Flat Out!!!
My vehicle has been to two dealerships and they have been unable to trace any fault with their code readers on the brain/ECU. As you can see from the subject my Disco will only do 65 MPH flat out and doesn't rev up or accelerate very quickly. I have had fitted a Mass Air Flow sensor and Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, it has had a brand new turbo fitted and the exhaust is not blocked, having all this changed has made no impact to the performance of my Disco and will still only do 65 MPH flat out!!!
Has anybody had this problem or have any suggestions as to what may be at fault??
Also the ECU has no faults on it at all and all readings are correct.
HELP ME PLEASE!

erh, does not sound good to me.. my J reg 90 with the lower gearing will do 90mph.. with the old 200TDI....
Have you tried reving the engine from under the bonnet, as it uses a thingy, (not sure what they call it) that changes the pedal movement to a electric signal. It is normally located not far from the pedal boxes in the engine bay.
If still under warrenty, I would get the dealer to do a swap of the ECU... as a test.

RE: TD5 Disco 2 65MPH Flat Out!!!
We have now been able to cure the Disco of its faults it was down to the injectors, they are two stage injectors, the first stage of the injectors was normal but the second stage (which is mechanical worked by a cam system) was not reaching 15,000psi (as stated in Land Rovers manual), therefore not enough diesel was being put into the piston chamber, so half the diesel means half the power.
Thanks to anyone who has replied to this message your efforts are greatly appricated.
