My freelander shakes between 55-65mph
Hi,
My freelander 1, shakes when I reach 55mph and goes when I get to 70mph. Ihave done all the obvious, had the wheels balanced, didnt go, had all four tyres changed didnt go, had the garage remove all wieght and rebalance still hasnt gone. Have had the prop bearing changed as well. Does anyone hav any ideas - been to 6 different garages now and all they do is scratch their heads and tell me to get the wheels balanced - which I have done 3 times now. Have only had this vehicle three months and its spent more time parked than used with the various faults that have arisen, as soon as I sort one another appears. Can anyone help with advice on this new fault please.
Many thanks

Could be a IRD. More likely its a axel shaft. From a stop, accelerate and turn the wheel IE making a left from a stop light. Do you feel any shake/vibration. Typically you can feel it in the floor and or steering wheel. If so my $$ is on the axel shaft esp if theres any kinda mileage on it.
Does it vibrate when it knocks? Mine had the dampener come loose... something to do with the shocks. It got shakey if I hit a bump. Could also be a cylinder thing.
You can take it to an AutoZone and they can connect it to that digital thing that will tell you what is wrong with it. I think it's free. At least, it used to be.
