I want to have a roll bar fabricated to put in my Series 2a, does anyone on this forum know of a fabricator in the Detroit area. Why am I putting one in a Series 2a, because my wife and I will be traveling in it this summer through Michigan's Upper Penn and with a ragtop there is nothing of safety if God forbid it tipped.

 

There was a roll bar from some domestic that would fit the series. I can't remember what it was (it's been over 30 years) but it was something like from a first generation Bronco. It was compact enough to fit with the hardtop on.
As far as fabricating one, any race shop should be able to build you one.
I would suggest having it made to use instead of the rag top hoops, to give you a tad more room inside, then just attach rag top door frame between the windscreen and roll bar.
