Default 1988 Range Rover no idle speed

Hello guys, I have a 1988 Range Rover 3.5 and recently it was overheating, so I replaced the head gaskets, it has been a 3 month process… long story short is that I had to retard the timing so she would start and she runs about 1100 rpm’s (timing is about 12-13 degrees distribuidor is at the end of travel), but it won’t idle and stalls if put in gear. I clean the intake throughly, it seemed like an iac issue…I have installed a new iac it seemed better but still stalling. The Efi light is on on dash but it is dim… I tried moving the wires on the cap thinking I need to retard timing more but it didn’t help… compression is 140-150 psi, did a leak down in all cylinders and it is ok… I am a master mechanic by the way, but I guess not master enough for a Land Rover…any help it would be appreciated!! Thank you!!

Dre, as your engine would be common to an early Disco 1, you could post your question there as well. The D1 section gets a lot more traffic than the RRC.
