MAF Sensor Reading 0.0 lb/s After Replacing Sensor - Wiring is Good...Bad ECU?????
Hi,
I was hoping for some input on a misfire issue with my 2008 Range Rover HSE with 4.4L Jag engine. The truck ran beautifully but I had a leak in the radiator which I replaced a couple weeks back. After re-installing all the cooling components (I put new hoses in), I started the vehicle and and it had a pretty bad misfire. I got some random misfire codes but nothing specific so I replaced all the plugs and coil packs with new ones same issue. I decided to take some live readings and noticed the MAF was showing 0.0 lb/s at idle, 0.1 lb/s when revving the engine to 1500 rpms or so. Clearly not good. I happen to have another 2006 4.4L petrol HSE so i pulled the MAF from that (same part number) same issue, 0.0 lb/s. Ok, maybe the harness was damaged during installing the radiator? I looked up the pinout for the MAF => ECU and tested for continuity, wires are good. I cleaned the connector and tried a 3rd MAF sensor from amazon, same problem, no reported airflow. So now Im thinking possibly the ecu???? I tried putting in the ECU from my 2006 into the 2008, part numbers appear to match but it wont start. So Im not sure where to go next :-( I assume the 06 ECU has to be programmed for the 08 HSE? Can my GAP IID tool do that? Any suggestion help would be greatly appreciated!
