2009 No. American L322 won’t start after reverse polarity jumpstart attempt. All electrical seem to work fine in key position 1 but nothing happens when key is turned to position 2. No noise from starter. Nothing. But I do not believe it to be a starter problem. Looking for troubleshooting guidance on CJB or other electrical troubleshooting. Will check tomorrow to determine if voltage is getting to starter. I suspect it isn’t.
What relays, fuses etc might be at fault? Or is the CJB fried? Or EJB? Help!
Any guidance will be deeply appreciated.

 

The “No Start” riddle solved. After spending countless hours googling and pulling fuses and swapping relays I finally found the problem and it had nothing to do with a reversed polarity jumpstart.

I stumbled upon upon a post discussing the gear selector causing a non start situation like mine so
in frustrated desperation I thought I would give it one more try. Although I had tried to start the beast in Park and in Neutral before with no results, I recalled that the gear selector cable had recently been adjusted because the car was popping out of drive from time to time. So this time I shifted the selector firmly through the gears and still no start in Park, but if I put it in Neutral and pushed forward slightly while turning the key VOILA it started! And sure enough, I have to manually hold the selector in Drive for the transmission to engage. Looks like I’ll be replacing that cable.
