Default Someone Please Talk Me Outta This (2012 RR SC)

Man, haven't been on this site in over a decade when I owned my P38. Fast forward 11 years and I'm in the market for a new truck and am considering a 2012 RR Supercharged. Found a few near me, both essentially identical in int./ext. color and options, with one having 57K miles while the other has closer to 65K miles. The 65K one has already performed the timing chain tensioner guide fix and has new air bags. The lower mileage one hasn't done either and needs a complete brake job. All of this aside, I know RRs are high maintenance and parts/labor are expensive so I'm psyching myself up for this ...besides the timing chain issue and routine serviceables like air suspension stuff, are there common problems for the 2012 Supercharged that I should be aware of. With the timing chain, I called a local British indy mechanic and they tell me the repair is $5K and I would be better off focusing my search on a 2013+ with the redesign guides. The thing is I don't want to swing the cost of a 2013+ RR ...would maybe consider the Sport version in those years but I'd prefer the larger one. Am I nuts for even looking at a 2012 that may need some pricey maintenance coming up soon? How common are the timing chain issues on these? Someone please talk me out of this and tell me to go buy a Lexus! All I know is that I had a love/hate relationship with my old P38. I loved the way it drove, its look, and the fit/finish but the damn thing was in the shop every month and bleeding me dry. I had to part ways with it but I do love these trucks. What should I do?

You may get yourself into the same position. A Rover is a Rover

what did you end up doing? I think if you are ok with the 2012price + 5k (for potential timing chain issues) vs. 2013 then you should get the 2012. Many of the 2012s are about 5k lower than kbb anyway since they need to figure that in to sell their vehicle.
