Default Catalytic converter woes

Hello all,

Just got an '02 P38 with the much sought after South Carolina CAT delete option. I've been playing with the idea of getting universal cats and the have an exhaust shop weld them in the universal O2 sensor pipes. The other option is figuring out what I need to do to change the emissions to the euro version since they only used pre-cat O2 sensors. Yes, in my state you can modify the emissions if the vehicle is over 20 years old.

You can certainly get universal cats welded in. There are replacement Y pipes with cats available as well. I don’t think that Euro spec ‘02 P38’s had only pre cat O2 sensors. I don’t think there would be a good reason to delete them anyway. I’ve heard of people just Ty-wrapping the post cat sensors out of the way without getting constant CEL codes.
