Range Rover P38 (2nd Gen) Talk about the Land Rover Range Rover P38 within.

I made a questionable decision 😂

I don’t see why that wouldn’t work then

Me either but it’s a P38 so……

Tracked down my drive line vibration over the weekend since duty for Sunday got cancelled. It was a pretty easy find I guess

Two were tight-ish. Two were finger tightened till the nyloc

Smooth as glass now rolling down the road.

Put some power adders on it while I was wrenching

My shop sticker, My unit logo 132nd MED BN, Lucky8 sticker and The junkyard digs sticker which might be the most accurate sticker I have ever seen for a Rover

All the new drag link parts have arrived will hopefully get those installed after range duty tomorrow. Then I can get it back over to Firestone for the alignment. Then good tires

Alright the transmission is all squared up I’m 100% sure the reason it has that new driveshaft is the other one snapped a joint.

Got after the steering last night had one oversight and didn’t order the new sleeve thing. I got the long side tie rod and the short side but there is a sleeve adapter that goes between them. Lucky for me it spun right out and was in good shape so I could moving forward on the repair.

Steering is all buttoned up and firestone is all done aligning everything. Next up will be good tires that aren’t’ old enough to vote. I missed ordering the sleeve thing that joins the long and short side luckily it was still in fine shape and I could reuse it.

Me either but I made jumpers to plug into the factory harness before I cut anything and it kills the power the moment it gets plugged in. Something is telling it this is the right load or whatever and shutting down the power

Had to treat myself after getting the P38 back all aligned from Firestone lol

Then I went to the shop and treated the P38 for it’s good behavior with some Michelin Defender LTX on 20” Range Rover L322 wheels

Going to take it in and have the wheel balance checked at Discount Tire in a few days

Out on the road I realized one that it rides really nice but the torque converter isn’t locking

I was feeling extremely ballsy so I took it through the car wash just to see what went wrong

All in all was super happy the sunroof didn’t leak that’s way more work than the rear hatch seal
