2006 RRS ignition switch - key
I purchased a 2006 RRS at auction without a key. I don't know if there is anything mechanically wrong with it since I don't have a key to try it out. I do have a good working 2006 RRS as a daily driver. I decided to take my ignition switch, key, and ECM out of my working RRS and install it in the auction RRS to see if I can get it to start. If it starts and drives, I figured I would invest the $400 and order a key. So, I installed the ECM and the full ignition switch. I can get the dash lights to come on, I see that it only has 110,000 miles, but I cant get it to do anything else. All that happens is the alarm (horn) continues to go off. If the battery is hooked up, the alarm is going off. How do I get around this? Do I need to install the drivers door lock from my daily driver? That seems like I wouldn't need to do this but who knows. Is there another ECU that I need (like a separate immobilizer)? I was under the impression that the immobilizer on these is built into the engine ECU. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
