Ok. Just unplugged both connectors on top of the PCM and left everything else connected. Checked pins 6&14 on the OBD and still got 41.1. I feel like I just keep hitting dead ends. Mainly because I don’t fully understand what all of this means. Hopefully on your end it means we are getting closer.😁. Thanks again for the help.
Diag like this is process of elimination, so dead ends are just clues of what it isn't. I'm glad that loop you just tested is good, it's one of the hardest areas of the wiring to get to and repair if needed. Now that you made the repair in the back go back to C2356 and check the pins I referenced earlier.
That’s good to hear. I will reconnect everything(PCM) and rested 2365 behind the battery and let you know what I get. I will send you a picture of the connectors and what the reading are. Should be able to get to this tomorrow. Thanks
Hello. 4&5 on the male side did not change. They were the yellow/brn and yellow/ black. 4&5 on the female changed to 62. Before the wire repair there was no change on both sides of the connector pins 4&5. Thanks
4 to 5 on the male having no change makes sense. Please check 3 to 2 on the male side. I don't like 62 on the female side, makes me think the issue is on that side of the circuit. Test those again and leave the meter in there with the reading showing. Unplug that connector behind the left rear wheel and check that reading. I want to know what it reads then and if opening that connector made a change. If it is reading 62 ohms with that connector behind the wheel opened then get to connector 2242 which is behind the fuse box by the glove compartment. See what is is reading then.
Ok. Are there certain pins you want me to check on the connector behind the fuse box(Is it behind the main junction box?) or are you wanting me to disconnect and continue checking 4&5 on the connector behind the battery? I will plan to recheck 4&5 female with my meter conntected and take a picture, I will then leave my meter connected and unplug the connector behind the left tire to see if that changes my meter. Will grab a pic of that also. Depending on the change I will then reconnect the plug behind the left tire and unplug the connector behind the glove box and check them again. I will also check 3&2 on the male side of the connector behind the battery. Let me if that looks right? I should be able to get these after work tonight. Thanks again.
That sounds right. No pins to check on the green connector behind the fuse box yet, we need to see how things read and/or change before going that direction.
Side note, I have to give you a ton of credit for tenacity and attention to detail on this. This is pretty advanced diagnosis and a lot of people throw the towel in lol. I'm not one of those people, and glad to see you're not either.
Thank you. I’m pretty determined. It really stinks because this truck was the best. Never had a single issue with it other than normal maintenance until one day it just wouldn’t start. I didn’t realize how long it’s been down, but July will be one year of it not running. I hope we get it figured out before then. I would like to return the compliment. Your knowledge of this vehicle is astonishing. Your ability to guide me through this diagnosis is second to none. I have learned a ton!!!
I do however have some readings from the requests earlier. See below.
With everything else connected
Male 3&2 behind the battery= No Change
Recheck female 4&5 = 62 ( see photo)
Checked female 4&5 with connector behind the rear left wheel disconnected = No Change (see photo)
I plugged the rear tire connector back in and disconnected the green plug behind the glove box and then check female 4&5 = No Change ( see photo of plug)
Sorry for the long post. Thanks again.
