Howdy! Have a 2011 that started with the check gas cap light to full on check engine light....smelled gas too outside the vehicle. Replaced the fuel pump because the casing had a crack in it. Thought it was all clear so took it in and failed emissions test. Oh did I mention I can't pump gas without it clicking....so takes me a bit to fill the tank. Question is will replacing this canister clear this issue? I'm thinking it will but also looking at the fuel filler neck to clear the gas pumping issue. Anyone deal with this before?

 

We have seen several and we systematically tested each section of the fuel system for blockage, only to end up replacing the canister on each of those. We also do the DMTL Pump while out. On some models they are attached to the canister, on others they are remotely mounted.

 

Canister will be replaced this week. I was told the fuel filler neck needed to be replaced as well due to the rollover valve being in the wrong position. I'll update once the repairs are done!
