Buying a used Velar
Hi All, Just signed up on this forum and looking forward to actively participate.
My first questions is this. I currently own a 2018 Evoque with 50k miles. It was a certified pre-owned. Had a great run with it. I am an offroading enthusiast and the Evoque didn't fail me there too. Nothing too aggressive but it does well on Medium rated trails in Southern California. i definitely pissed off some Jeep and Disco owners with the stunts i pulled with this car. No problem as such except for a couple of instances where i had to take it to for service. Transmission shifting was and still is rough. It seems there is an inherent design issue with how the trany couples with the 2.0 liter Ingenium engine. Anyways, i am now looking to step up to a Velar. The new ones are expensive with the chip shortage which also drives the prices up on the CPO units. I am considering if it's okay to look into a used with an expired or close to being expired warranty. Given i have hardly had issues with the Evoque, i hope the same with Velar. I love the car in every which way but just cant afford one with low miles and warranty. What is the typical experience of all Velar owners over a few years of ownership with ...lets say... 100k miles or somewhere close to it? Except for regular maintenance, is there a design flaw or any other inherent problem that cannot be fixed. Appreciate the feedback. Thank you.
